It is a real triathlon race for real triathletes. It is a fundraiser for
LLL of MD-DE-DC. Athletes pay a fee to enter the race and a whole bunch of
businesses sponsor the race. This money is used to cover expenses and the
rest is donated to LLL of MD-DE-DC!
What does it mean for a business to sponsor the race?
Businesses sponsor the race by donating money and/or products. In return,
the business gets publicity - logos appear on the web site, race brochures,
advertisements, T-shirts, race packet information, etc.
What kind of help is needed?
I need lots of help (ha ha)! I am looking for anyone interested in helping
in any way large or small, long or short term, starting now or later. Here
is a list of some things we need for the race:
Contacting potential sponsors is a big job. Obviously more sponsors mean
more money for LLL.
Contact information for any potential sponsors - maybe you know someone who
owns a business and you think they would want to sponsor this race, doctors,
dentists, lawyers, bike shops, swimming stores, sporting goods businesses,
bagel stores, restaurants, health/sports food vendors, breastfeeding
businesses, etc.

medical personnel for the first aid station
police traffic direction volunteers
water and sports drinks
post race-food
disposable plates, cups, utensils, napkins
prizes for racers, volunteers

a live band for spectator entertainment
cardboard garbage cans and garbage bags
hotel rooms
microphone system or something to make the award ceremony easier
and of course, race day volunteers including team captains.
