La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, mother-to-mother support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. Accredited by La Leche League International, volunteer Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who are familiar with research and current findings dealing with all aspects of nursing. We offer practical information and support to nursing mothers through telephone help, monthly meetings, and lending libraries of books on childbirth, breastfeeding, and related parenting topics. All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend our meetings or to call our Leaders for breastfeeding help.

Attending La Leche League Meetings can help you learn about breastfeeding from other nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Knowing other women who have breastfed their babies can be helpful and reassuring. It is also important to have accurate, up-to-date information.

• Preparing for Baby, Birth, and Baby's First Weeks
• Avoiding and Overcoming Difficulties
• Nutrition, Weaning and Changes as Baby Grows

Babies and children are always welcome.

Meeting attendance is not limited to members, but membership in our organization has many advantages. Membership in La Leche League is currently $40 annually. Benefits of membership include:

• A one-year subscription (six bimonthly issues) to NEW BEGINNINGS, a magazine filled with inspiration, practical hints, the latest breastfeeding information and much more;
• Unlimited use of Group lending libraries;
• A 10% member's discount on most purchases from the LLLI Catalog, which features a wide variety of outstanding publications on breastfeeding;
• Participation in monthly Enrichment Meetings. These warm, informal meetings only for members focus on a variety of topics, usually centered around parenting issues;
• Participation in LLL special events, including local and international conferences, with a special member's discount on registration fees; and
• Most importantly, membership funds not only your local Group, but enables La Leche League International to continue its mission of providing information and encouragement for breastfeeding women around the world. Without contributions from our members, La Leche League would be unable to provide this vital mother-to-mother support.
